A couple weeks ago Jim and I were talking about what would be the easiest way to keep everyone informed of McLendon events, news, and more. We decided that we might give this blogging trend a try. Blogs are like online journals and are one of the most straightforward ways of "publishing" things on the internet. Because of its ease of use, we figured it would stand a better chance of being kept up and updated regularly (in comparison to the more traditional website we started but never finished on McLendons.org).This blog is for everyone and can be about all kinds of things - reunion updates, new additions to the family, memories and stories, photos (new and old), a favorite recipe, and any other piece of info that helps us keep up with each other.
Another neat thing about using a blog is that you'll be able to write comments and responses to the notes that get posted.
If you've got anything you'd like to share to help us get this thing kicked off the right way, please send me the info at mclendon@webadvanced.com. Jim will likely be updating the blog in the near future as well, so he'll be able to act as another resource for creating posts.

Thanks to Andrew's idea, we now have an avenue of communication and family updates via our "McLendon Family Blog".
I just entered a brief summary of my life and added it to my own blog and I sincerely hope that as many other family members as possible will get aboard and share some things.
For your information, a few of us are looking at options for another reunion in 2009 or 2010.
Chris and I have been traveling as far and as fast as we can so far this year - just returned from the north coast of Maine - so beautiful and cool weather. Back to England in late July, followed by a "boys only" fishing trip to the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and then on to Glacier National Park with Chris. Gotta keep moving!

Andrew - Great site!! Thanks for creating this. Summer has been a great start for us. Corbett and Riley and myself, just came back from Destin, Fl with mom and dad (jim and chris mclendon). Had a blast, the water was crystal blue.
Just celebrated Corbett's 6th birthday.
